Top Ten Tuesday #36: Back To School Freebie

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is Back To School Freebie -- anything "back to school" related like 10 favorite books I read in school, books I think should be required reading, Required Reading For All Fantasy Fans, required reading for every college freshman, Books to Pair With Classics or Books To Complement A History Lesson, books that would be on my classroom shelf if I were a teacher.

  2. I detested Lord of Flies in secondary school!! I do still have my noted copy on my shelf because I don't want to throw it way, but I still hated it!! I do like Romeo and Juliet! :-) Here is my TT: https://pageturner20.wordpress.com/2016/08/30/top-ten-tuesday-42/

    1. I feel the same way. It was a very hate and love feeling for me. I didn't understand why we had to read it. R&J was my love!!

  3. I've read a few of these, but I don't remember them that well. Except Bridge to Terabithia. That book broke my poor little heart when I was younger. I read Lord of the Flies when I was in high school, but I think I might enjoy it a lot more if I read it now. And, believe it or not, I still haven't read Romeo and Juliet. I'm a bad English major!!

    My TTT!

    1. Ah Bridge to Terabithia is love... I feel the same way about Lord of the Flies. There are so many movie adaptations to that story I feel I'll prob enjoy it more as an adult.

    1. Yes! such a good book. Haha I thought The Giver movie was alright. It wasn't exactly how I envisioned it.

  5. I've never read The Wind in the Willows but wanted to, it looked so peaceful and pastoral. I have it... and Island of the Blue Dolphins is another one, that's one where the title just always intrigued me but I never got to that one either.

  6. I read (and loved) A Wrinkle In Time, but not for school. Did you read the whole unabridged Les Miserables in high school? I read it last year and it took me weeks because it was so long...it would have been way too dense for me as a teenager!

    1. Hmm...maybe we read the Cliff Note version in class. I recall reading a ton of books in English but spending no more than a few weeks. You are probably right haha.
