Title:
Face Offs & Cheap Shots (CU Hockey #2)
Author: Eden Finley, Saxon James
Expected Publication: October 5th 2020
Genres: M M Romance

JACOBS

For the last three years, I’ve lived and breathed hockey with one goal: team captain.
There’s only one thing standing in my way. TJ Beckett.
Beck is irresponsible and immature, and I’ve hated him since the moment we met freshman year.
Yet, the coaches see something in him I obviously can’t, and they refuse to choose between us. The captain spot is going to a team vote, and the team thinks that what we need are a bunch of challenges to prove our worth. Challenges that have nothing to do with hockey. Challenges that are throwing me and Beck together.
And he’s still as infuriating as ever.

BECK

I have no idea why Christopher Jacobs hates me, and I can’t say I care. I like pushing his buttons, but the guy needs to loosen up. I’m going to win these stupid challenges easily and spend my senior year as hockey king on this campus. Tormenting Jacobs at the same time will just be a bonus.
Even if I’m getting confusing feelings toward him, I won’t let it hold me back.
When it comes to competing, I’m all in, and nothing will get between me and the W.

 The Sex Coach
Author: Garrett Leigh
Expected Publication: October 1st 2020
Genres: M M Romance

The teacher and the student. The stable hand and the single dad. First times and friendship turn to love.

Toby
There’s nothing attractive about a twenty-four year old virgin, especially not one who blushes every time a hot dude looks his way. But I can’t help the heat that ripples through me every time I see Cole Maguire. And the clench of my heart when I realise how unhappy he is. He’s a city boy with a baby on his hip—we have nothing in common—but if he can teach me how to own my sexuality, perhaps I can teach him he’s worth loving.

Cole
I don’t like horses. But I love my daughter, and there’s nothing I won’t do for her, including leaving the city for life on a farm. I’m ready for that, but I’m not ready for blushing stable hands who make my heart race and my blood run hot. Toby has no idea how beautiful he is. I can teach him that, if he can handle the heat, but after one night with him…damn.

Maybe it’s me that has a lot to learn.

Can't-Wait Wednesday / Waiting on Wednesday #122

Title: The V- in 403C
Author: Jess Bryant
Expected Publication: August 27th 2020
Genres: M M Romance

Jonah Monroe might be a genius when it comes to his studies but he’s never been able to find his footing in the real world. A college graduate by the age of eighteen and a doctoral candidate at twenty-one, he doesn’t fit in with his peers and lacks the social graces that would attract friends, let alone a lover. He’s resigned himself to his status as awkward and forever alone, until one bad decision turns his world upside down.

He shouldn’t have even been in that club. He shouldn’t have let a sexy stranger buy him a drink. And he definitely shouldn’t have let the man kiss him like he’d never been kissed before.

Reed Matheson has done a lot of dumb shit in his short life but he never would have guessed that kissing a stranger in a bar would be the best decision he ever made. He didn’t expect the intense connection he feels for the shy, socially awkward stranger to linger long after he was gone. And he certainly never expected to see the cute guy the next morning, preparing to teach his class.

Reed is a student and Jonah is a TA. Unwritten rules or not, nothing more can happen between them, at least that’s what Jonah keeps telling himself. But Reed has never been one to play by the rules and he’s not about to start now, when for the first time, his heart is on the line.

Can't-Wait Wednesday / Waiting on Wednesday #121

Author: Lauren Blakely
Expected Publication: August 19th 2020
Genres: M M Romance

A sexy, passionate, utterly addictive standalone MM romance from #1 NYT Bestseller Lauren Blakely!

Every bartender should follow one simple rule—don't go home with the customers.

That’s been easy for me to stick to, until the night a cocky, confident, and sinfully charming hockey star walks into my bar. This sexy athlete is too hard to resist, especially when he makes it clear how much he wants the “sarcastic, witty, hot AF” guy behind the bar—also known as me.

Still, I’m not keen on breaking my own rules since I know where that can lead—no place good.

But when that man makes his case with one bone-searing kiss on the streets of London, I throw resistance out the window.

What could go wrong with a hot, dirty, no-strings-attached fling before he leaves town in five days?

Trouble is, soon our nights together lead to days, to long conversations, to getting to know each other, and to something I never expected—falling ridiculously hard for a man who’s getting on a plane to America when I live a world away.

My life is here. His is there. And no amount of falling or feeling will change that one big problem.

Manic Monday #21: The Best Books I've Read in 2020 (so far)

Today I'm going to talk about the best books that I've read so far this year.  I read 100 books so far this year which is absolutely ridiculous because last year I read 118 books, so the fact that now in half a year I've already read 100 that is just unbelievable. I know it's already obvious so we're already way past the half year mark but I don't care.

Rocket Science (Love Logic #1) by K.M. Neuhold : That was a nice surprise! I really enjoyed this book! It was fun, flirty, sweet. Just what I needed at the time.

Fake It 'til You Make Out (Love & Luck #1) by Isla Olsen : This book was super funny and sexy.

Virgin Flyer by Lucy Lennox : Virgin Flyer is my very first book by Lucy Lennox. And just like that, I am in love. This is a stand alone M/M sweet, sexy, fun, witty and just amazing romance and I have fallen hopelessly in love with these two men.

Without You by Marley Valentine : This is my very first book by Marley and WOW!  Oh my heart, be prepared to sob. Don’t read it if you are looking for a super light romance….little bit heavy!!

Just Drive (Anchor Point #1) by L.A. Witt : I have read some books by this author and they 've been hit or miss (mostly miss) but this one really hit the mark.

Daddy Ink (Get Ink'd #1) by Ali Lyda : A single daddy and a tat artist, what more to you need?

A Rhythm You Feel (The Rock Gods: East Coast Label #1) by Ann Lister : When I pick this book up I did not know this was a spin off series.

NoX by Adrienne Wilder : THIS BOOK! Probably one of the biggest surprises for me. I picked it up on a whim.  I don't read Paranormal / Shapeshifters but after read this I jump head first into Paranormal romance.

Marriage Contract by A.J. Sherwood : Super short. Super cute! May/December romance.

Falling for the Geek (His Best Friend's Brother #1) by R. Cayden : This one really worked for me. It had lots of things that I loved.  Best friend's older brother theme.

Project Hero by Briar Prescott : This is a very sweet read. Thoroughly enjoyable but with a hint of angst. I liked the balance. Both main characters were good decent guys, they fall hard fast but it doesn't feel rushed.

Power Plays & Straight A's (CU Hockey #1) by Eden Finley, Saxon James : Loved this one and can't wait to read the others in the series.

Wreck Me Forever (Polished P & P #1) by Lila Rose : This was an unexpected surprise from a new to me author.  Can't wait for the next book.

Reading the Signs by Keira Andrews :  Baseball, age gap, low angst, dirty talk, hot sex and kink.  What's not to love?

Marry Me (Tattoos and Temptation #1) by Mia Monroe : If you are looking for a fantastic romance, this book was a delight! This faux romance is full of amazing chemistry but also just such richly written characters whose struggles feel so real.

What have YOUR best or your favorite books of 2020 so far??

Can't-Wait Wednesday / Waiting on Wednesday #120

Title:
 Trade Deadline (Hat Trick #3)
Author: Avon Gale & Piper Vaughn
Expected Publication: August 17th 2020
Genres: M M Romance

It’s a reunion to remember…

Don’t miss this friends-to-lovers hockey romance from Avon Gale and Piper Vaughn.

Daniel “Bellzie” Bellamy should be on top of the world—a Stanley Cup is the perfect topper to his fourteen-year NHL career. But despite the post-win high, something’s missing. When the chance to play for his hometown team, the Miami Thunder, comes along, he’s open to it. And when he runs into an old friend from his past soon after he makes the move, he wonders if it might be kismet.

Micah Kelly never thought he’d see his childhood crush—and first kiss—again. Danny Bellamy moved on to bigger and better things when they were teenagers, and the idea that Micah’s relationship with the professional hockey player could be anything more than one-sided Instagram thirst seems too good to be true.

Maybe too good to be true is the new reality, though. As the season goes on, Micah teaches Daniel to surf, and Daniel introduces Micah to his lovable pack of rescue dogs and the world of being a hockey boyfriend. Life is good. But when things on the ice don’t go as planned, they’ll have to decide if their rediscovered romance is built to last.

Can't-Wait Wednesday / Waiting on Wednesday #119

Author: Evie Drae
Expected Publication: August 11th 2020
Genres: M M Romance

Only true love can free a captive heart.

Landon Jenks, retired four-time Golden Glove-winning shortstop for the Chicago Cubs, is lonely, heartbroken, and in need of simple human contact. Trapped in the sticky fine print of an ironclad contract that forbids him from revealing his very-much-single status until the season finale of his reality show airs, he calls an elite male escort service that caters to the rich and desperate.

Accustomed to servicing his often less than savory clients at more upscale locales, twenty-six-year-old Toby Carmichael is surprised when his handler sends him to a run-down motel off I-55. But “surprise” doesn’t come close to describing the shock that rocks his system when a delightful stuttering mess covered in tattoos and nearly ten years his senior stumbles into the room—and right into his heart.

For the first time since Toby was forced into the life of prostitution, a kiss sparks a desire that has nothing to do with money and everything to do with genuine chemistry and the faintest beginnings of something so much more. But Toby’s dark past and troubled present make it impossible to see a future with Landon. And when the truth comes to light, a horrified and helpless Landon is determined to save Toby at all costs.

Sean Bailey, the older brother of my lifelong best friend, has always been a surly, temperamental pain in my ass. But sometime during the last few weeks, I’ve gone and fallen head over heels for him.

Gruff and charming, charismatic in his own way, I’ve found myself looking past my preconceptions and discovered a whole new side to Detective Dick—a side I could fall in love with.

But life isn’t always easy—it can change course in the blink of an eye. Sometimes for the good and sometimes for the bad. I know this because last night I experienced both sides.

Title:
Spotlight (Famous #2)
Author: Eden Finley
Expected Publication: July 16th 2020
Genres: M M Romance

Ryder

When I quit the biggest boy band on the planet, I was supposed to get my life back.

It’s not that I wanted to leave the spotlight. I felt like I had to for my daughter. Her picture shouldn’t be splashed all over the tabloids.

I thought I could do this parenting thing on my own, but it’s obvious I need help. I just didn’t expect to find it in the form of a gorgeous guy I meet by chance.

I can put my attraction aside for my daughter’s sake. I’ve put my whole life on hold for her.

If only he wasn’t so tempting.

Lyric

Working as a nanny is my backup to my backup plan. My first plan is fame, but something always holds me back.

When I randomly run into Ryder Kennedy and end up becoming his daughter’s nanny, I figure it’ll be a short-term thing.

But then Ryder finds out I can sing. He wasn’t ready to give up music, and now he’s found a new way to have it: through me. He wants to produce my demo and make me a star.

He says I was born to be in the spotlight, but I think I was born to run from it.

It doesn’t help that each day I’m with him and his daughter, the deeper I fall into fantasies of being part of their family. And not just as the nanny. (less)

Can't-Wait Wednesday / Waiting on Wednesday #115

Title: King of the Dark (The Prince's Assassin #1)
Author: Ariana Nash
Expected Publication: July 10th 2020
Genres: Fantasy, M M Romance

From the author who brought you the award-winning Silk & Steel series comes a new dark MM high fantasy.

"Your love is worthless, it's your hate I need." ~Prince Vasili Caville

When King Talos Caville surrendered the war to the elves, soldier Nikolas Yazdan vowed never to serve the royals again. He said the same to the prince who tried to buy his loyalty, and learned that the Caville princes don’t take no for an answer.

Whipped for his insolence, Nikolas is also forced into slavery in a palace full of vicious, brutal royals. And Prince Vasili is the worst Caville of all. Malicious and cruel, the prince is more viper than man, and someone inside the palace wants him dead. Nikolas would kill the prince himself if not for one thing: Julian, the prince’s personal guard and Niko’s light in the dark. If Nikolas doesn’t submit to Prince Vasili and discover who is plotting against him, Julian will suffer.

But there’s more wrong in the palace than just the prince. The king is on his deathbed, the ferocious elves are creeping closer to the great city of Loreen, and madness stalks the hallways. There’s poison in the Caville court, and if Nikolas doesn’t discover the real reason Prince Vasili tried to buy him with a bag of coin, the palace, the city, and everything he loves, will be lost forever.

Can't-Wait Wednesday / Waiting on Wednesday #114

Title: Boyfriend Material
Author: Alexis Hall
Expected Publication: July 7th 2020
Genres: M M Romance

Wanted:
One (fake) boyfriend
Practically perfect in every way

Luc O'Donnell is tangentially--and reluctantly--famous. His rock star parents split when he was young, and the father he's never met spent the next twenty years cruising in and out of rehab. Now that his dad's making a comeback, Luc's back in the public eye, and one compromising photo is enough to ruin everything.

To clean up his image, Luc has to find a nice, normal relationship...and Oliver Blackwood is as nice and normal as they come. He's a barrister, an ethical vegetarian, and he's never inspired a moment of scandal in his life. In other words: perfect boyfriend material. Unfortunately apart from being gay, single, and really, really in need of a date for a big event, Luc and Oliver have nothing in common. So they strike a deal to be publicity-friendly (fake) boyfriends until the dust has settled. Then they can go their separate ways and pretend it never happened.

But the thing about fake-dating is that it can feel a lot like real-dating. And that's when you get used to someone. Start falling for them. Don't ever want to let them go. (less)

Manic Monday #19: Mid-Year Check In

Happy Monday, Bookworms!  I hope this post find you all well & safe!  It's June so I thought I would do a mid-year check in.  Back in January I posted my 2020 Goals & Resolutions.  Let's take a look to see where I'm at.

More Catching up on Series - Instead of catching up or finishing a series I'm already reading. I started 9 new series this year.

Expand My Horizons - I wanted to read at least five fantasy books and three non-fiction books this year. So far I have read one fantasy book.

Book Unhaul - In January I donate over 90 books to my local library.

Get back into Blogging - I'm trying to posted weekly.  Keyword is trying.

Watch More Movies and TV Shows - I want to watch a book-to-movie adaptations so I could feature it on the blog this year.  So far have watch zero.

So that it for now, how is your year going?

The Elite

* * *

MATEO MORGAN
CALL SIGN: SOLO

Reckless, arrogant, and bold, Solo is as known in the U.S. Navy for his bad-boy reputation as he is for his skills as a fighter pilot. It’s a surprise to his peers, then, when he’s chosen to train and compete at the most prestigious naval aviation academy in the world.

MISSION RULES:
1.Kick everyone’s ass.
2.Do whatever it takes to win.
3.Do your best to distract the competition.
4.Especially when that competition is a gorgeous blue-eyed perfectionist who makes your blood run hot.

* * *

GRANT HUGHES
CALL SIGN: PANTHER

Disciplined, smart, and confident, Panther can’t afford not to play by the rules. As the son of a top Navy commander, all eyes are on him, and being anything less than number one is unacceptable.

MISSION RULES:
1.Keep it safe in the air.
2.Prove you’re more than Commander Hughes’s son.
3.No distractions. Stay focused.
4.Don’t fall for your competition—especially not the rebellious heartbreaker with lips made for sinning.

With passion this intense, the question remains:
Who’s gonna come out on top?

Manic Monday #18: Series I’ve Been Meaning to Start!

Happy Monday Bookworms!   I hope you’re well & safe!  I am sharing series I’ve been meaning to start but haven’t!   I am only doing completed series though because if I did uncompleted ones the list would be never ending!

Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
Yes, I want to see what all the fuss is about this series! I hear so many good things about it (and some bad).

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
This is just another great fantasy series that I've heard great things about and I would really like to start.

The Infernal Devices Series by Cassandra Clare
I think that at some point I will have to give this series a chance. I mean, everybody seems to love it.

The Shadow and Bone Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo
I'm almost ashamed to admit that I haven't started this series. I've honestly been meaning to for years now, but for some reason I just haven't.

The Gold Seer Trilogy by Rae Carson
I must have read the first two or three chapters of the first book but just wasn’t very appealing to me at the time.

The Queen of the Tearling Series by Erika Johans
One day I will start this series, I'm 99.99% sure I have all of the books in the series.

Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
The sad part is I own five of the books.

The Abhorsen Series by Garth Nix
Another one that I'm embarrassed to say I've never started on.

I know, some of you are probably reeling over the fact that I haven’t already started some of these series.  The older series have mostly all been on my TBR for years, but I somehow just haven’t gotten around to them. I'm sure there are other series but these are the ones that first jumped to mind when I started working on the post.

Have you read any of these or do you want to read any of these?

xoxo,
Shon

Title: Home for a Cowboy (Windsor, Wyoming #1)
Author: Amy Aislin
Expected Publication: June 9th 2020
Genres: M/M Romance

Las doesn't date seasonal workers. Marco's on a three-month contract.

Lassiter Windsor-March has been planning for his future for as along as he can remember and he knows exactly where that future lies: at his family's ranch in Wyoming. What doesn't lie in his future is a summer fling with one of the seasonal workers—they never stick around.

Even if one of those workers is the college crush he's invited to work a summer job at the ranch.

Marco Terlizzese is as laissez-faire as Marco isn't. He might not know where he'll be once his contract with Windsor Ranch is up, but he knows three months is plenty of time to get his long-time crush to agree to go out with him.

Amid a starry summer sky, their chemistry ignites as feelings deepen, forcing Las and Marco to decide where they truly belong. (less)
