Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is Ten Books I Loved Less/More Than I Thought I Would (recently or all time) -- or you could do something like books I liked more/less than everyone else.
Books I Love Lees Than I Thought I Would
Shon's Picks1. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
So many people loved Anna and the French Kiss while I had such a strong dislike for it.
2. Hello, I Love You by Katie M. Stout
The plot sound interesting and very unique. (They had me at K-Pop). Sad to say that this book is not for K-Pop fans or anyone who is a fan of all things Hallyu.
3. A Tyranny of Petticoats: 15 Stories of Belles, Bank Robbers & Other Badass Girls by Jessica Spotswood
Collection of short stories from fifteenth bestselling young adult authors. With that many bestselling authors in one book, you would think that this book would be a slam dunk. It was not.
4. Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
I think if I had just read the synopsis about this book instead of listening to others people opinions and review on this book. I would not have gone into this book with such high hopes and expectations.
5. Black Diamond by Ali Dean
I don't know what happened the book start off so promising and towards the end it kind of just fizzle out.
Wendy's Pick
6. Heir of Fire (Throne of Glass #3) by Sarah J. Maas
Man this book was very hard to get through. I enjoyed the first 2 books, but this one got me into a reading slump. The book is basically Celaena training once again and a few more boys to add to her list of lovers. ( How many more boys will we encounter? Should I sign her up for the next bachelorette?)
7. Spirit Bound (Vampire Academy #5) by Richelle Mead
I got a little annoyed with Rose & her obsession with Dimitri & having to prove that he isn't strigoi anymore. The last bit of the book was what brought it back up.
8. We Were Liars by E. Lockhart
I'm going to be honest and say that it took a lot for me to finish this book. The writing is unusual for me and I did not like it. The story line was decent. Although I'm they type to like more detailed characters/story lines. Over all in O.K. book.
9. Reign of Shadows (Reign of Shadows #1) by Sophie Jordan
It has a pretty cover.
10. Black Diamond by Ali Dean
OK, so in the beginning I was so into this book and about mid-way it started to get to childish. A lot of whining and back and forth rants. NO ACTION! LOL!
I had heard a lot of people didn't like Throne of Glass as much as the other books when I started reading them so I think that helped me like the first book more! Hype can be a dangerous thing.
ReplyDeleteHype is a very dangerous thing! With so many BookTubers, whom opinion I value, really enjoyed this book, I was not only disappointed by this book but also on their review of Throne of Glass.
DeleteThanks for stopping by! Happy Reading!
Although I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Vampire Academy series, I agree, Spirit Bound was weaker than the rest.

I quite liked Throne of Glass despite the hype. I guess I had low expectations despite what everyone said but then Heir of Fire... haha, sign her up to the bachelorette, I love it! But seriously how many men can there be?
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I knew nothing about Throne of Glass before I read it, I literally had no idea it was a big deal until afterwards!

Lucky you. Thanks for stopping by. Happy Reading!
DeleteAww I am sorry Anna and the French didn't work for you, I loved it cause when I read it I was in that phase, now I might not like it that much. I didn't read Throne of Glass cause it was too hyped leading me away from it lol. And I got annoyed with Rose and Dimtri in Spirit Bound too!

Reign of Shadows certainly has a pretty cover - haven't tried it though.

Bummer about Anna and the French Kiss. That's one of my ALL TIME favorites. :)
