Synopsis
The Darkling rules Ravka from his shadow throne.
Now the nation's fate rests with a broken Sun Summoner, a disgraced tracker, and the shattered remnants of a once-great magical army.

Deep in an ancient network of tunnels and caverns, a weakened Alina must submit to the dubious protection of the Apparat and the zealots who worship her as a Saint. Yet her plans lie elsewhere, with the hunt for the elusive firebird and the hope that an outlaw prince still survives.

Alina will have to forge new alliances and put aside old rivalries as she and Mal race to find the last of Morozova's amplifiers. But as she begins to unravel the Darkling's secrets, she reveals a past that will forever alter her understanding of the bond they share and the power she wields.

Review
Like calls to like

Breathless sigh... oh wow. I think I just found my new favorite series this year. Wow oh wow oh wow.

I simply could not put this book down. As soon as I finished Siege and Storm I jumped right into this one.

The entire journey was incredible! I felt my heart getting trampled again and again... I cannot do this book justice. I have new found respect for Badugo *with hearts in my eyes

All I can say is that justice was seeked and some semblance of happiness achieved. Overall the story redeemed itself from giving me all this heartache and despair.

I loved Six of Crows. But reading this series now, it can't be compared. There is such magic in the Grisha World.

Onward
Favorite part is definitely the fairy tale telling in the beginning and ending of each books. They give a far way magical feel that's written so beautifully and classically. I'm not sure how I will be able to move on from this. I will need to give my heart time to heal and slowly move on to a new tale :)
