Can't-Wait Wednesday / Waiting on Wednesday #110

Title: Messy Ink (Get Ink'd #2)
Author: Ali Lyda
Expected Publication: June 9th 2020
Genres: M/M Romance

Dane

Chris is a great doctor, but he can’t heal me…

I learned to look out for myself on the streets and in juvie. I’ve cleaned up my act, but it doesn’t mean that I’m about to start trusting a guy to stick around. Especially not a clean cut doctor like Chris. No wonder I ended things between us the first time around.

I’m sure it’s for the best. A guy like me can’t have a guy like Chris, no matter how much I want him. I’ve done too many bad things, and now karma is coming back to bite me. But every time my path crosses with Chris, I can’t help but wonder what might have been.

Chris

Is Dane too broken to try again with me?

I knew Dane was a player when we hooked up the first time, and I thought I didn’t want strings. But the smoking hot tattoo artist makes me want to break the rules and try something new. His past is full of pain, and I’ve got commitment issues of my own. It’s no wonder we didn’t last.

Dane has hidden depths, and my heart still beats like crazy every time I get close to him. If I let him get too close he could hurt me all over again - but maybe I’m ready to take a risk. Can we overcome the odds and make things work?

Messy Ink is a 70k m/m romance that gives you steamy second chances, a bad boy tattoo artist learning he’s worthy of love, the doctor who’s ready to mend his heart, and tons of gorgeous ink all wrapped up and ready for reality TV.

Can't-Wait Wednesday / Waiting on Wednesday #109

Title: Inside Affair (Prime Time #1)
Author: Ella Frank
Expected Publication: May 27th 2020
Genres: M/M Romance

Xander
If I had to describe Sean Bailey, it would be: a surly, temperamental pain in my ass. Never in that equation would I ever include the word boyfriend—and not just because he’s straight.

The older brother of my life-long best friend, Sean is a detective for the Chicago PD, and is also known as Detective “Dick” for being...well, a surly, temperamental pain in everyone’s ass. He also happens to be the best they have, which is why I find myself on his doorstep the night my life is threatened by an anonymous stalker.

I only wanted the name of a bodyguard; I didn’t expect for Sean to volunteer for the job. Now, not only do I have a bodyguard, I also have a fake boyfriend.

Sean
It must be so hard to be Alexander Thorne, the number one prime-time news anchor in the country, with millions of dollars and a car that costs more than my house. I mean, I’m allowed to give him a hard time about it, but when some creep decides to cross the line and go after him, they’re gonna have to answer to me.

Going undercover has never been an issue in the past, so I don’t see why there’d be a problem now. Xander and I have known each other for years, so this should be a breeze. Except suddenly my stomach’s flipping when he looks my way, and my body comes alive whenever he brushes by me. I know I’m good at my job and playing a character and all, but this is getting out of hand.

I can’t be sure that either of us are playing anymore.

Can't-Wait Wednesday / Waiting on Wednesday #108

Title: Queen Move
Author: Kennedy Ryan
Expected Publication: May 26th 2020
Genres: Contemporary

The boy who always felt like mine is now the man I can't have…

Dig a little and you'll find photos of me in the bathtub with Ezra Stern.
Get your mind out of the gutter. We were six months old.
Pry and one of us might confess we saved our first kiss for each other.
The most clumsy, wet, sloppy . . . spectacular thirty seconds of my adolescence.
Get into our business and you'll see two families, closer than blood, torn apart in an instant.
Twenty years later, my "awkward duckling" best friend from childhood,
the boy no one noticed, is a man no one can ignore.

Finer. Fiercer. Smarter.
Taken.

Tell me it's wrong.
Tell me the boy who always felt like mine is now the man I can’t have.

When we find each other again, everything stands in our way--secrets, lies, promises.
But we didn't come this far to give up now.
And I know just the move to make if I want to make him mine.

Can't-Wait Wednesday / Waiting on Wednesday #107

Title: Date Me, Bryson Keller
Author: Kevin van Whye
Expected Publication: May 19th 2020
Genres: Contemporary / Young Adult / Romance

What If It's Us meets To All the Boys I've Loved Before in this upbeat and heartfelt boy-meets-boy romance that feels like a modern twist on a '90s rom-com!

Everyone knows about the dare: Each week, Bryson Keller must date someone new--the first person to ask him out on Monday morning. Few think Bryson can do it. He may be the king of Fairvale Academy, but he's never really dated before.

Until a boy asks him out, and everything changes.

Kai Sheridan didn't expect Bryson to say yes. So when Bryson agrees to secretly go out with him, Kai is thrown for a loop. But as the days go by, he discovers there's more to Bryson beneath the surface, and dating him begins to feel less like an act and more like the real thing. Kai knows how the story of a gay boy liking someone straight ends. With his heart on the line, he's awkwardly trying to navigate senior year at school, at home, and in the closet, all while grappling with the fact that this "relationship" will last only five days. After all, Bryson Keller is popular, good-looking, and straight . . . right?

Kevin van Whye delivers an uplifting and poignant coming-out love story that will have readers rooting for these two teens to share their hearts with the world--and with each other. (less)

Shon's May 2020 TBR

Happy May Bookworms!

Today marks 30 days of social distancing, which is absolutely wild.  Things have been a bit overwhelming, working from home has been such a difficult adjustment.  Every day the list of food I want to eat, keep getting longer and longer. I told my family once this was over, that where not going to see me for a month.

Let's get to the main reason you are here.  I had a really had a great month of reading in April. I hope you did, too! Here’s my May TBR list!

The first book on my TBR is the book that I'm currently reading Daddy Ink by Ali Lyda. It is a M/M Romance. If you are new to our blog, my name is Shon and 97% books I read are M/M Romance.

From there, I hope to reread the The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, it been a hot minutes since I reread this. Heart Strain by Michele Notaro and Sabriel by Garth Nix both are on KU. There are some other books I have my eyes on that I might try to get to.

The last book I plan to read this month is Classified by Brooke Blaine & Ella Frank, only because the book comes out on May 27th.

Those are all of the books I hope to read and enjoy this month! Have you read any of these books? What are you planning on reading this month?

xoxo,
Shon
