Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is Top Ten Books I Want My Future Children to Read (Or nieces and nephews, Godchildren, etc.)
Tina's Picks:
I can already envision bed time stories of Harry Potter :)
Of course the incredible Dr. Seuss series
How can we forget the magical The NeverEnding Story? Ah the good old '80s classics
Elmo & Friends
Ramona Quimby series
A Wrinkle in Time
The Secret Garden
The Wind in the Willows
The Arabian Nights
Little Women
What are your top ten childhood favorites?
Love the Little Women cover. Would definitely be a reason to buy another copy xD And the Dr. Seuss series is one I'll have to read for myself one of these days. I can still be a kid, right? xD
ReplyDeleteThere are way too many editions right??
DeleteYes! And I always want to have them all. Was the same with Alice in Wonderland. And I've never read the second part of it. Despite the four editions I own xD So maybe I should at least read the books first to see if I actually like them, before stocking up on all different editions xD
DeleteYou can't go wrong with the Harry Potter series!!
ReplyDeleteHere's a link to my TTT post for this week: https://captivatedreader.blogspot.com/2017/11/top-ten-tuesday-top-twelve-books-i-want.html
You and I had a lot of reading overlap! I saw the movie The Neverending Story when I was very young but didn't read the book until I was in high school. I think that I got a really awkward translation from the German as well because I was never quite able to connect with it. My husband is German and we have been planning on doing a partner read of it in German soon.
ReplyDeleteI've actually never read it but it's on my tbr! I loved the movie growing up!
DeleteHarry Potter made my list this week too. So many great choices here. Lots of books I remember adoring when I was a kid.
ReplyDeleteI have loved all of these (except Arabian Nights, which I hope to read someday soon). I’ve seen Harry Potter on (almost) every list I’ve looked at today.

Great list!!

Dr. Seuss! And The Wind in the Willows! Love both of those. The Never Ending Story I saw ages ago...
ReplyDeleteI know~!! So nostalgic :)
DeleteAh Elmo. I have some Sesame Street books for Merijn, though he is still a tad too young for those right now. Too much text.
ReplyDeleteMy friend reads her baby Elmo all the time and even took her on a Sesame Street cruise lol...
DeleteMerijn can't sit still long enough for that much text at his age I meant with the ones we have. ;) We read picture books with animals and the sounds they make and those sort of thing as that is what keeps his attention. The ones we have with Elmo and Sesame Street have a lot more text.
DeleteI'm seeing a lot of the same books/series today, but hooray for the inclusion of Beverly Cleary and A Wrinkle in Time! Such great books and authors.
ReplyDeleteHere is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
Classics! :D
DeleteMy future children will definitely be reading Harry Potter. Everybody should read that series.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
