Synopsis

Mortals rule the desert nation of Miraji, but mystical beasts still roam the wild and barren wastes, and rumor has it that somewhere, djinni still practice their magic.

But there's nothing mystical or magical about Dustwalk, the dead-end town that Amani can't wait to escape from.

Destined to wind up "wed or dead," Amani’s counting on her sharpshooting skills to get her out of Dustwalk. When she meets Jin, a mysterious foreigner, in a shooting contest, she figures he’s the perfect escape route.

Review

Amani lives in the desert that believes in magic. Her world exists the story of the First Beings that created the mortals in their image, of horses to look like the Buraqi, and of birds to look like the Rocs.

Her adventure begins with her as a low class woman with a sad childhood and upbringing wanting out. Her strong will keeps her morals and ambitions high. She has options and she tries her luck again and again to take her out of her birth city. Her escape escalates from one EXCITING adventure to the next.

What a fantastic read! From chapter one, I was hooked! This book went above and beyond my expectation. The Buraqi is an immortal horse created from wind and sand. Now this is the horse that's wicked cool like I imagined in Riders. There are also mentions of genies... um need more info please!! There's intrigue, rebel forces, shape shifters, illusionists, the list is endless with possibilities! Can I see your story board please??

Absolutely love the book!
